Halo Waypoint Gamma Suggestions and Feedback.


As the gamma forums' contents will be discarded of, I thought I may as well post my feedback here.

Firstly, a huge list of stuff!
  • While posting a 'full' reply, when you click on the [BB/] button, the text is almost the same as the background. Very icky
  • Replace "Thank" with "<4", make it not publicly visible 
  • Move the "report?" button inline with the tweet, quote, etc buttons. Rename to "Report", or "Report Post"
  • Move the "edit by user" to the top of the post, next to the timestamp of the post, replace the text with the time of edit.
  • The avatar size has been increased, but not by enough. I recommend 120x120, or slightly smaller
  • Replace light greys of the text containing rank, post count, thank count, groups etc. Make it darker.
  • Remove Semi-Transparent Avatars
  • Give Admins and CLs Special Avatars
  • Remove the groups visibility. Make it behind the scenes. Let the rank tell what privileges the user has.
  • Give the CLs specific titles
  • Lighten the YAF text in the bottom right corner (This page was generated, AND the posting privileges list)
  • Remove the ability to delete posts.
  • Add polls
  • Add styles, rather than having colours and font size. For example a simple ideal would be: "Paragraph, Title, Heading, Sub-heading, Annotation"
  • Add super- and subscript.
  • If possible, add Hot Topics
  • Make the icons for "Goto last unread" and "Goto last page" more concise and/or larger
  • Add a clear system that shows the user that they have posted in a thread (on the forum thread list page, possibly via use of the thread icon)
  • Regarding signatures. It should be max 256 chars, but max 2 lines. Anything in a spoiler tag counts as the line the spoiler button takes up. Aligmnent BBCodes should be supported
  • https://halo.xbox.com/Gamma/yaf_activeusers.aspx?v=1 : Remove this, it is an invasion of privacy. Admin only.
  • The thread Options button ([OPTIONS]) should be relocated to the top right corner.
  • Quick reply: The post button. Remove the padding, align it to left, and remove the space between the button and the text field. If possible, add a "Go Advanced" button, which redirects to a full reply, and pastes the text you had already written.
  • Move the PM button into the user's drop-down menu
  • Have back to top button only at the bottom of the page.
  • Slightly darken the quote back-color
  • Re-arrange to look like V2 from this thread
  • Remove spaces between [New Topic] and [Tag as Favorite]
  • Remove the after a Hyperlink, as it causes spacing errors.
  • Reduce the spam timer to 30 seconds. I've been hit by it at least 15 times in a day, and I'm not spamming.
  • The pagination in the View thanks page is not visible due to a poor color scheme. This applies to PMs, as links appear white.
  • Add a horizontal rule BB Code. i.e. [hr]

Secondly, my design and layout for the final forums!
General forum post, note that the PM button has been moved into the drop-down menu, where it should be.
